  • Angela Halliday

    DIRECTOR

    Angela is an artist who works with video and photography. She was awarded an MFA with distinction in 2005 from Ulster University and completed a practice-based PhD in 2011 entitled Video Narratives and The Construction of the Female Subject. Angela has been the Director of DAS since 2011.

  • Catherine Devlin

    RESIDENCY CO-ORDINATOR

    Catherine studied photography at Edinburgh College of Art and completed a PhD in 2011 from Ulster University. Catherine works in photography and installation. Catherine is a former director of Platform Arts in Belfast and sat on the committee of Source magazine.

  • Richard Davis

    CREATIVE TECHNICIAN

    Richard Davis is an artist, animator and musician based in Belfast. He studied Animation at Norwich University of the Arts and later went on to study an MA Digital Media Arts at the University of Brighton. In 2023, he completed a practice-based PhD at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Queen’s University Belfast, on the performance of voice using interactive technologies.

Digital Arts Studios provide Artists' Residencies, Equipment & Studio Hire, Training, & Exhibitions.

  • DAS is a not-for-profit, charity operating a shared studio space in Belfast City Centre. DAS promotes the convergence of art and technology and provides invaluable access to the resources essential to the production of and engagement with digital arts. DAS is for artists and creatives to work, learn and advance their careers. We were born out of a desire to support and encourage visual artists whose innovative work merged with digital technologies.

  • DAS is located in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, in close proximity to the University of Ulster’s Belfast Campus, The MAC and the Oh Yeah Centre. DAS is principally funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland with support from Belfast City Council. The Digital Arts Studios (DAS) is a company limited by guarantee, registered number N1068690. DAS is a registered charity with charity number NIC106254.
