Ann Burns Rhythmanalysis +

Rhythmanalysis + is a 360 ethnographic sonic cartography, exploring the sensory journeys of four islanders from Sherkin, (a small island situated in the West Cork archipelago), during the Covid 19 pandemic across one week, looking at their everyday rhythms. All sounds came as direct recordings from the islanders, and the VR drawing was a direct response to graphic scores created on paper by natural materials and translated into data using Gravity Sketch and Unity.

Bio

Ann Burns is a visual artist from North Cork, (Ireland). Her practice engages participants in pedagogical processes that lead to ambitious digital and physical sculptural forms. Trained in ceramics and photography and having an understanding of the value of material forms, Ann has been investigating the sensory materiality of both virtual and augmented realities. Using the framework of rhythmanalysis; examining everyday-life through the lens of rhythm and archipelagic thinking, Ann creates sonic, visual and ethnographic cartographies exploring sensory and technical responses.

Thomas Patrick Trinity†

Trinity† was created in response to an exploration of liminal space and my intention to create digital spaces that provoke spiritual experiences, and is an attempt to create a portal into a deeper place, a metaphysical world... to bring a greater awareness of who we are.

A glimpse of the ancient truth that we are enfolded in Love. Intimate, passionate, transcendent Love that is interstellar and yet closer than our skin. The cosmos, the universe, our neurons and the waves of light cascading into our retinas are vibrating in a rhythm contained in the breath, animated by love and destined for life.

Bio

Thomas has been exploring spirituality and creating digital content for over 15 years. He cut his teeth performing live visuals to over 100,000 people with Top Djs around the world. Incorporating years spent studying the history of colour and music and algorithms to produce shows which could be animated by audio frequencies and manually manipulated to create improvised live art. This led to large-scale projection shows at the opening of Edbrington and The Land of Giants in Belfast, awarded 5 stars by The Huffington Post. Thomas has also shown work at The Metropolitan Museum in NYC, SXSW in Austin, and The LPM in Rome. Currently, he is exploring the power of XR and immersive technologies to communicate emotion and provoke spiritual encounters with love.

Robert Peters What Was. What Will Be?

What Was. What Will Be? is one of three artworks commissioned by R-Space Gallery Lisburn for the Linen Biennale Northern Ireland 2023. Through a fusion of augmented reality and artificial intelligence, it resurrects the voice of a turn-of-the-century linen mill worker, delving into issues of child exploitation by mill proprietors then, paralleling the exploitation by today’s social media conglomerates. It also underscores how social divisions continue to be exploited for the enrichment of a privileged few.

Bio

Robert Peters is an artist facilitator based in Bangor, Northern Ireland. A founding director of Catalyst Arts, he has worked in a range of cultural management roles alongside maintaining his artistic practice. His artwork is represented within the collections of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Trinity College, Dublin and the Hong Kong Open Print Studio. He has exhibited regionally and internationally including at the Halls of Science NYC.

William Wong 3D Scanning + AR

The photo [shown opposite] and the AR experience are work-in-progress of an idea questioning about how a migrant learn a place they are moving to. What can they learn about the country, the history and the culture by visiting museums, exhbitions and other cultural activies?

Bio

William Wong is a new media artist and photographer from Hong Kong. His main interests are in volumetric capture, mixed reality, A.I., and documentary photography. In 2022, he moved to London and continues to exploring the use of technology in art and storytelling.
